Suddently It Hit Me

Created on Jul 19, '08 5:42 PM

My mom called me, and advised me to hire a confinement lady. There are so many post-pregnancy taboos that my relatives told her, well... some might be quite true. She kept saying "if you take it too lightly now, you're gonna be suffering when you get older". It's quite true that sometimes we, young people, don't take good care of ourselves and we never considered the consequences when we get older.

So i've been reading and surfing the internet for more info, but it doesn't help much. There are just too many things that I'm not supposed to do during the confinement period (cannot be too tired, cannot touch uncooked water, cannot drink uncooked water, not even mineral water, cannot cook, cannot bathe the baby and many more). I'm stressed out. I don't think I need a confinement lady, and I don't want my mom or MIL to be doing all the houseworks either.
What about after the confinement period? How to maximize the time i have for my baby? Should i hire a maid? Should i leave her in a day care centre when i'm working? Oh gosh... Can I be with her 24 hours a day?
